INDIVIDUAL ESSAYS OF NEW YORK TIMES BEST-SELLING AUTHOR CHUCK KLOSTERMAN TO BE OFFERED AS EBOOKS
NEW YORK, September 15, 2010-Sixty-nine of best-selling author Chuck Klosterman's essays are now available as individual ebooks, available for purchase at all ebook retailers at $0.99 each, or in one of six different thematic collections for $7.99. The thematic collections will contain 10-14 essays of varying lengths and grouped as: "Chuck Klosterman on Sports;" "Chuck Klosterman on Rock;" "Chuck Klosterman on Pop;" "Chuck Klosterman on Film and Television;" "Chuck Klosterman on Media and Culture;" and "Chuck Klosterman on Living and Society." The announcement was made by Susan Moldow, Executive Vice President and Publisher of Scribner. Almost all of the essays have appeared in Chuck Klosterman's previously published books, including Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs (Scribner, 2003); Chuck Klosterman IV (Scribner, 2006), and Eating the Dinosaur (Scribner, 2009).
"With a body of work that distinctly sits where music, sports, pop culture, and literary interests meet, Chuck Klosterman's essays are uniquely suited to be individual ebooks," said Susan Moldow. "Much like the music model, this will allow digital-friendly fans to enjoy Chuck Klosterman's essays as ‘singles,' or as ‘greatest hits,' when purchased in the thematic collections."
Considered by many to be one of the country's most provocative commentators on pop culture and sports, Chuck Klosterman is the New York Times bestselling author of Eating the Dinosaur, Downtown Owl; Chuck Klosterman IV; Killing Yourself to Live; Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs; and Fargo Rock City. He has written for Esquire, GQ, The New York Times Magazine, Spin, The Washington Post, The Guardian, The Believer, A.V. Club, and ESPN.
