Tom Hayden
Executive Vice-President of Showtime Networks and General Manager of Smithsonian Networks

Tom Hayden is Executive Vice President of Showtime Networks and General Manager of Smithsonian Networks.

 

Since joining Showtime Networks Inc. (SNI) in 1989, Tom Hayden has served in various executive capacities

 

In 2006, Hayden was given the responsibility of launching and developing Smithsonian Networks, a new Showtime joint venture with the Smithsonian Institution.  The network launched an HD channel in September 2007.  In 2008, the channel became the youngest network to earn an Emmy Award. 

 

Hayden previously served as Executive Vice President, Direct-To-Home for which he had the responsibility of expanding Showtime Networks’ reach and revenue in the DTH and emerging telco business.

 

Before taking over the network’s DTH division, Hayden served as Senior Vice President, Strategy and Development, where he was responsible for Business Planning, Corporate Strategy, Business Development and New Media groups.  In this capacity, his primary role was to formulate long-term business strategies that take advantage of transforming technologies.

 

Previously, Mr. Hayden served as Senior Vice President, Business Planning & Analysis and was responsible for working with the company’s finance and marketing departments to create meaningful performance measures and processes that supported the company’s focus on profitability.

 

During his tenure at Showtime, Mr. Hayden has also served as Vice President, Financial Services, and Director of National Accounts, where he was responsible for MSO contract negotiations and business development for the Time Warner Cable Group, Telecable and Comcast.  He also served as Regional Director for Showtime’s Northeast Region.

 

Prior to joining Showtime, Mr. Hayden spent 12 years at Kraft Foods, Inc., where he held a variety of sales and marketing positions.  Hayden received his BA in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University and his MBA from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri.  He works out of Showtime’s New York Corporate Headquarters.
