Season three of HART OF DIXIE returns with our favorite BlueBellian living back in New York City.  Yup, that’s right, Dr. Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson) decided to give New York another try.  Zoe is working in a big city hospital and dating a successful New York novelist.  It’s the life she’s always dreamed of.  Still she can’t shake the feeling she’s left some unfinished business back in BlueBell, so Zoe heads South to make amends. Unfortunately, the townsfolk aren’t too happy with Dr. Hart’s decision to move back to New York, so poor Zoe’s got her work cut out for her.

Last season, Zoe confessed her love to golden boy George Tucker (Scott Porter).   Unfortunately, George was in a relationship with someone else.  When that ended, he rushed to Zoe’s side, only to find her with on-again-off-again love interest and resident bad boy Wade Kinsella (Wilson Bethel).  So George took off on a road trip to play in a band.  Meanwhile, Wade drove halfway across Alabama to confess his love to Zoe. While touched, Zoe decided she needed a break from BlueBell and its never-ending love triangle, so she headed to New York for some much-needed R&R.

Lemon Breeland (Jaime King) took over the Rammer Jammer with Wade in an effort to get her life back on track after being left at the altar by George.  Bluebell’s mayor and Zoe’s best friend, Lavon Hayes (Cress Williams), started a new relationship with AnnaBeth Nass (Kaitlyn Black), the town’s sweetest belle.  Meanwhile, Zoe’s partner and Lemon’s father, Dr. Brick Breeland (Tim Matheson), ran off to elope with his much-younger fiancée.
