ALWAYS “B POSITIVE”

Marco Pennette, creator and executive producer of B POSITIVE, recently answered questions from fans about organ donation, moderated by Terrence Terrell, who stars as “Eli” on the show. Pennette shared some of his personal experiences as a kidney transplant recipient and Terrell spoke about how deeply this topic affects the Black community. Watch the full video Q&A premiere on Facebook, Thursday, Dec. 17 at 12:00 PM, PT, or any time after on

B POSITIVE’s social channels.

According to Pennette:

Writers write what they know, and I know this...I lived through this.”

Chuck’s [Lorre] always trying to look for different kinds of shows, not the norm.”

It’s funny, my doctor said to me, ‘start asking people for a kidney,’ and I said ‘What? Ask people for a kidney? I can’t ask people to drive me to the airport.’”

I was hoping...in my effort to make it less scary, to try to find some humor in this situation. I mean, that’s how I approach life.”

While Terrell noted:

It’s a representation, it’s a responsibility because I’m representing the Black community with this, and it’s a huge situation...Black people make up 35% of people on dialysis right now.”
