CBS today announced promotions for top communications executives at the network and television studio, appointing Phil Gonzales to Senior Vice President, Communications, CBS Entertainment, and Lauri Metrose to Senior Vice President, Communications, CBS Television Studios.  The announcement was made by Chris Ender, Senior Vice President, Communications, CBS, to whom they both report.

"Phil and Lauri are best-in-class campaign strategists, communicators and PR advisors," said Ender.  "They support the CBS Television Network and CBS Television Studios, as well as our overall Communications operation with creativity, innovation and tenacity at every turn.  In a world that moves very fast, they have mastered the art of balancing traditional, online and social media to enhance the audience and profile for all things CBS.  We are very fortunate to have them as leaders on our world-class team."

"I've had the good fortune to work with Phil since the early '90s at Warner Bros.," said Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment.  "He's been the driving force behind iconic and memorable campaigns, and he is one of the most respected communications executives in our business.  I greatly value our partnership and friendship, and the many creative and strategic contributions he makes to the network's Entertainment group."

"Having come from the publicity world myself, I can truly appreciate Lauri's extraordinary talents," said David Stapf, President, CBS Television Studios.  "Her passion, attention to detail, unique campaigns and big picture vision enable us to thrive as a studio.  Lauri is an integral part of our team and her insights are extremely valuable in all aspects of our business.  I feel very fortunate to work alongside her."

Metrose has been Vice President, Communications, CBS Television Studios since 2005.  She oversees consumer publicity, strategic business communications, promotions, talent and producer relations, as well as award campaigns for a studio that is one of the industry's leading suppliers of primetime programming.

Metrose has led campaigns for television's top two scripted series, NCIS and NCIS: LOS ANGELES, in addition to this season's top two freshman series, HAWAII FIVE-0 and BLUE BLOODS.  Metrose also spearheaded the Emmy campaign for THE GOOD WIFE, resulting in nine Emmy nominations, including "Outstanding Drama Series."

Prior to joining CBS Television Studios, Metrose spent four years as Manager, Publicity, CBS Entertainment, launching series such as CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION and the Emmy Award-winning THE AMAZING RACE.   She began her career at Paramount Network Television in 1998 as a junior publicist.

Metrose was nominated for a Publicist Guild Award in 2000 and 2001 for her work on behalf of CSI.  She is also on the board of Concern Foundation.

Gonzales, who joined CBS Entertainment in September 2004 as Vice President, Communications, oversees the network's publicity campaigns on behalf of primetime series, specials, longform, as well as late night and daytime programming.  He also serves as the media liaison for network activities in program development, casting and scheduling.

Since joining CBS, Gonzales has overseen publicity campaigns on behalf of the three CSI series, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, THE BIG BANG THEORY, CRIMINAL MINDS and THE MENTALIST.  This season, he led successful network campaigns for CBS's five freshman series-HAWAII FIVE-0, MIKE & MOLLY, BLUE BLOODS, THE DEFENDERS and $#*! MY DAD SAYS-which rank as the season's five top new programs.

Gonzales joined CBS from Warner Bros. Television, where he had been Vice President, Publicity since 2000.  In addition to assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Warner Bros. publicity department, he spearheaded landmark, award-winning publicity campaigns during the 10-year run of "Friends," among others.  He joined Warner Bros. in 1992 as a Senior Publicist and was named a Director in 1996.

From 1987-1992, Gonzales worked at Fox Broadcasting Co., beginning as an intern and working his way up to Manager, Publicity.

In 1995, Gonzales was the recipient of the Publicists Guild Award for best television campaign for his work on "Friends."
