KDKA-TV PITTSBURGH NEWS ANCHOR SUSAN KOEPPEN TO SIT IN AS GUEST CO-HOST ON “THE TALK,” TUESDAY, JUNE 26

Los Angeles – KDKA-TV Pittsburgh news anchor Susan Koeppen will be a guest co-host on THE TALK, Tuesday, June 26 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; 1:00-2:00 PM, PT), joining co-hosts Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler at the table. Throughout the week, news anchors and weathercasters from five CBS-owned stations around the country will be in Los Angeles to serve as guest co-hosts, filling in for Julie Chen who returns Monday, July 9.  

During the week of June 25, THE TALK will feature the following guest co-hosts:

Tuesday, June 26: Susan Koeppen, News Anchor, KDKA-TV, Pittsburgh

Thursday, June 28: Kate Bilo, Meteorologist, KYW-TV, Philadelphia

Susan Koeppen co-anchors the weeknight editions of KDKA-TV News at 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM. In addition, Susan is KDKA’s consumer reporter.

Before joining the KDKA news team, Koeppen was the consumer correspondent for CBS News’ “The Early Show.” Previously, she was a consumer reporter and weekend morning anchor for WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh (2000-2004). Before that, she was an anchor/reporter at WHEC-TV in Rochester, N.Y.; an anchor/reporter at WKTV-TV in Utica, N.Y.; and a reporter at WNYT-TV in Albany.

The Emmy Award-winning reporter is also the recipient of three Gracie Allen Awards from the American Women in Radio and Television. Also, Koeppen was honored by the Associated Press for general excellence in reporting and best local documentary and received the United Nations Association of Rochester International Media Award.

In April 2006, Koeppen and CBS News producer Robert Powell were honored with the Home Safety Council Beacon Award for their reporting on critical consumer topics and for raising awareness of home safety issues during the preceding year. The Beacon Award recognizes members of the media whose reporting provided accurate and educational information to shine a light on the serious problem of home-related injuries in America.

Susan was born in Albany, N.Y. In 1994, she graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in broadcast journalism. She enjoys travel and has been to every continent except Antarctica. Susan lives in Shadyside with her husband and their three children.

CBS’s Daytime Emmy Award-nominated talk show THE TALK features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities discussing current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. The daily one-hour series is co-hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler. The hosts swap stories, challenge each other on issues and engage the studio audience and viewers at home about events in the headlines and their own homes. Show segments include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, musical performances, appearances from extraordinary people with stories that engage and inform as well as how-to demos, real-world advice and tips from the leading experts in fitness, diet, health, home, relationships, finance and fashion.  John Redmann serves as executive producer along with Sara Gilbert, who developed the show.
