CBS STREAKS TO ITS THIRD CONSECUTIVE WEEKLY WIN IN VIEWERS TO START SEASON

 

CBS Has Nine of the Top 20 Programs in Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54, More Than Any Other Network

"NCIS" is the Top Drama in Viewers and Adults 18-49

"NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "The Big Bang Theory" are the Top Three Scripted Programs

"Elementary" and "Vegas" Continue as the Top Two New Series of the Season, Both Ranked Among the Top 10 Programs

New Friday Lineup Posts Week-to-Week Growth

"The Good Wife" and "The Mentalist" Posts Gains From Last Sunday

            CBS placed first in viewers for the third consecutive week of the new television season, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Oct. 14, Week Three of the 2012-2013 television season.

CBS had nine of the top 20 programs in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 – more than any other network.  CBS also had the top three scripted programs – NCIS, NCIS: LOS ANGELES and THE BIG BANG THEORY – and eight of the top 10 – VEGAS, CRIMINAL MINDS, TWO AND A HALF MEN, THE MENTALIST and CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION.   

In the first week since CBS revised its Friday schedule, the Network was up +10% in viewers (9.18m from 8.32m), +30% in adults 18-49 (1.3/04 from 1.0/4) and +27% in adults 25-54 (1.9/05 from 1.5/04).

On Sunday, THE GOOD WIFE was up in viewers and adults 25-54, while THE MENTALIST notched double-digit percentage gains in viewers (+19%), adults 18-49 (+31%) and adults 25-54 (+27%).

           Season-to-date in viewers, NCIS is the  #1 most-watched program, while THE MENTALIST now ranks as Sunday’s #1 scripted series.  CBS also has four of the top five programs and continues to have the top two new programs (#8 ELEMENTARY, #9 VEGAS), now both ranked among the top 10 shows.

             For the week in viewers: CBS (9.67m), NBC (8.14m), ABC (7.95m) and FOX (6.07m). Season-to-date, CBS (11.02m), ABC (8.58m), NBC (8.39m) and FOX (6.52m).

 For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in adults 25-54 (2.9/07) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (2.1/06, with FOX).    

             For the week in households: CBS (6.3/10), ABC (5.2/08), NBC (5.0/08) and FOX (3.7/06).  Season-to-date:  CBS (7.0/11), ABC (5.6/09), NBC (5.3/08) and FOX (4.0/06). 

Season-to-date, CBS is first in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 Monday to Friday at 10:00 PM.

 

CBS Weekly Highlights:

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (4.9/08, 7.82m) was second in adults 25-54 (3.6/09), adults 18-49 (3.1/09) and adults 18-34 (2.8/09).  HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was the night's #1 scripted program in adults 18-34. 

2 BROKE GIRLS(5.8/08, 9.42m) was second in adults 25-54 (4.2/09) and adults 18-49 (3.4/08).  2 BROKE GIRLSwas the night's #1 scripted program in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. 

-- OnTuesday, CBS was first in households (9.7/15), viewers (15.16m) and adults 25-54, (3.9/09) and was second in adults 18-49 (2.8/08, -0.1 behind NBC). 

NCISwas first in households (11.8/18) and viewers (18.51m), and was second in both adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and adults 18-49 (3.4/10).  NCIS was the night's #1 program in households and viewers.

NCIS: LOS ANGELES was first in households (9.6/14), viewers (15.18m), adults 25-54 (4.1/09) and adults 18-49 (3.0/08).   NCIS: LOS ANGELES was up +4% in households (from 9.2/14), even in adults 25-54 and added +270,000 viewers (from 14.91m, +2%) compared to last week. 

VEGASwas first in households (7.8/13), viewers (11.78m) and adults 25-54 (2.8/07), and was tied for first in adults 18-49 (2.0/05, with NBC). 

SURVIVOR: PHILIPPINESwas first in households (6.1/10) and viewers (9.82m), and was second in both adults 25-54 (3.8/10, -0.1 behind FOX) and adults 18-49 (2.8/08). 

CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (7.0/11) and viewers (10.70m), and was second in both adults 25-54 (3.3/08) and adults 18-49 (2.6/07). CSI was up +4% in both households (from 6.7/11) and adults 18-49 (from 2.5/07) and +3% in adults 25-54 (from 3.2/08) compared to this year's season premiere (Sept. 26). 

THE BIG BANG THEORYswept its time period, finishing first in households (9.1/15), viewers (14.23m), adults 25-54 (5.7/15), adults 18-49 (4.5/13) and adults 18-34 (3.4/12). 

TWO AND A HALF MENwas first in households (7.3/11), viewers (11.35m), adults 25-54 (4.5/11) and adults 18-49 (3.5/10). 

CSI: NY (P) was first in households (6.3/11) and viewers (9.48m), second in adults 25-54 (2.0/05, -0.1 behind NBC) and was tied for second in adults 18-49 (1.4/04, with ABC).  CSI: NY posted its best delivery in households and viewers since Feb. 10, 2012 and best deliveries in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since May 4, 2012. 

BLUE BLOODSwon its time slot in households (7.0/12), viewers (10.54m) and adults 25-54 (2.2/06), and was tied for first in adults 18-49 (1.4/04,with ABC).  Compared to last week, BLUE BLOODSwas up +8% in households (from 6.5/12), +22% in adults 25-54 (from 1.8/05), +17% in adults 18-49 (from 1.2/04) and added +770,000 viewers (from 9.77m, +8%). 

60 MINUTESwas second in households (7.5/12), viewers (11.58m) and adults 25-54 (2.9/07), and averaged 2.0/06 in adults 18-49.  Compared to last year, 60 MINUTESwas up +6% in households, +12% in adults 25-54 and +18% in adults 18-49. 

THE GOOD WIFE was second in households (6.3/09) and viewers (9.12m), and averaged 2.5/05 in adults 25-54 and 1.7/04 in adults 18-49. Compared to last week, THE GOOD WIFE was up +7% in households (from 5.9/09), +14% in adults 25-54 (from 2.1/05), even in adults 18-49 and added +170,000 viewers (from 8.95m, +2%). 

THE MENTALIST was second in households (7.1/11), viewers (10.74m), adults 25-54 (2.8/06) and adults 18-49 (2.1/05).  THE MENTALIST was up +18% in households (from 6.0/11), +27% in adults 25-54 (from 2.2/06), +31% in adults 18-49 (from 1.6/04) and added +1.72m viewers (from 9.02m, +19%) compared to last week.
