CBS NEWS WINS SIX EMMY AWARDS, INCLUDING "60 MINUTES" 2002 LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD,
MORE THAN ANY OTHER BROADCAST NETWORK
?
CBS News was awarded six News and Documentary Emmy Awards, more than any other broadcast network, by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The 24th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards were presented at a ceremony last night (3) at the Marriott Marquis in New York. ?
The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH DAN RATHER and 60 MINUTES II won two awards each and 60 MINUTES received one. In addition, the second Annual Lifetime Achievement Emmy was presented to Don Hewitt and the past and present Correspondents of 60 MINUTES. ?
Don Hewitt, the creator and Executive Producer of 60 MINUTES, in attendance last night with many members of his staff, accepted the award. "It's not all that tough to be tapped for a lifetime award when you've been lucky enough to spend more than half your lifetime in the company of a Walter Cronkite, an Edward R. Murrow, an Eric Sevareid, a Charles Collingwood and, if that's not enough for one lifetime, how about having the luck to stumble on the most incredible array of talent television has ever seen on one broadcast and probably ever will see again?," said Hewitt. ?

Following are the five Emmy Awards received by the Division, by broadcast: ?
