CBS has won the 2016-2017 television season in viewers for the ninth consecutive season and 14th in the past 15 years, according to Nielsen’s most current ratings through May 21.
CBS averaged 9.65 million viewers, +1.5 million ahead of second place NBC (9.65m vs. 8.12m).
The following are highlights of CBS’s winning 2016-2017 season:
CBS has five of the top 10 broadcasts, as many as all the other networks combined.
13 series are averaging 10+ million viewers, more than any other network.
CBS has 14 time period winning programs, more than all other networks combined.
THE BIG BANG THEORY is the #1 comedy/scripted broadcast in viewers, adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and adults 18-34. It’s the 13th consecutive season the Network has the top comedy in viewers.
THE BIG BANG THEORY, NCIS and BULL are the top three scripted series.
KEVIN CAN WAIT is the #1 new comedy in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.
CBS has the top three comedies (THE BIG BANG THEORY, MOM, KEVIN CAN WAIT).
BULL is the #1 new drama/scripted series in viewers.
For the 8th consecutive season, NCIS is the #1 drama in viewers. CBS has had the #1 drama in viewers for nine consecutive seasons and 15 of the past 16.
CBS has eight of the top 10 broadcast dramas in viewers (NCIS, BULL, BLUE BLOODS, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, NCIS: LOS ANGELES, HAWAII FIVE-0 MADAM SECRETARY and CRIMINAL MINDS).
