2016-2017 SEASON…CBS FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS

Eight Performance Factoids from America’s Most Watched Network

Through the first nine weeks of the new season, CBS is once again America’s most watched network, +1.46 million viewers ahead of the second-place network.

First half performance highlights include:

BULL is television’s #1 new drama, averaging nearly 17 million viewers. The Michael Weatherly-starring drama has improved the year ago time period by +8% in viewers and +14% in adults 18-49. BULL is the #2 overall broadcast drama (behind only NCIS) and ranks fourth among all primetime programs.

 

NCIS: LOS ANGELES is thriving in its new time period. In its eighth season, it’s growing +14% in viewers and +12% in adults 18-49 over its Monday performance a year ago. Its Nov. 13 broadcast averaged 12.11 million viewers, becoming the first scripted Sunday broadcast to beat “The Walking Dead” with live plus same day viewing since March 2014.

HAWAII FIVE-0 is also growing in its seventh season. The Friday night drama is up +6% in viewers and +13% in adults 18-49 from a year ago and tied (with BLUE BLOODS) as the night’s #1 show in adults 18-49.

 

CBS is #1 on Friday in adults 18-49 for the first time since 2013. The drama lineup is bookended by MACGYVER, the night’s #1 new program, and BLUE BLOODS, still the #1 program in viewers.

 

For the first time ever, THE BIG BANG THEORY is broadcast television’s #1 program….period. Averaging 18.60m, television’s top comedy ranks ahead of everything, including “Sunday Night Football” and is the #1 scripted broadcast in adults 18-49 (4.9).

 

KEVIN CAN WAIT is the season’s #1 new comedy in viewers (10.21m) and adults 18-49 (2.6).

 

Still winning! For the seventh consecutive cycle, SURVIVOR, the king of reality television, continues to place #1 in its time period in viewers (10.33m) and adults 18-49 (2.5).

 

The Nov. 13 edition of 60 MINUTES averaged 20.00 million viewers, the season’s largest non-sports live plus same day audience. The broadcast featured an exclusive first interview with President-elect Donald Trump.
