GAMESPOT TAKES VIEWERS BEHIND THE SCREENS OF THEIR FAVORITE GAMES WITH NEW VIDEO SERIES “AUDIO LOGS”

Audio Logs Gives GameSpot’s YouTube Audience Never-Before-Seen Insights into the Creation of Today’s Most Iconic Games

SAN FRANCISCO – April 26, 2019 – GameSpot, the #1 gaming news and information site, has debuted its new video series, Audio Logs, on its YouTube channel. The show gives gamers a unique behind-the-scenes look at the creation of some of today’s most popular games from “God of War” to “Overwatch.” Audio Logs features prominent game designers, writers, composers and artists and allows them to tell their own stories about how these iconic games were brought to life. Using state-of-the-art touchscreen technology, guests are able to comment on their games frame by frame, detailing their process. The first episode of the season is available to watch at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4XRmMkQcuQ.

Audio Logs presents gamers with a new way to experience and appreciate the titles they thought they knew inside and out,” said Audio Logs’ senior producer, Lucy James. “Our audience is passionate about both game design and storytelling, and we’re excited for this show to give game designers a platform to share their perspective, explain technical intricacies and reflect on their trials, tribulations and triumphs.”

In Audio Logs’ debut episode, “God of War” director Cory Barlog gives an inside look at an iconic scene from the game in which the protagonist, Kratos, acquires his legendary weapon, the Blades of Chaos. In the episode, Barlog reveals for the first time that the fan-favorite blades nearly had to be cut from the game due to time and budget concerns. He also speaks of the emotional experience Kratos’ voice actor, Christopher Judge, had when filming the dramatic scene.

Audio Logs’ first season contains seven episodes that will air on Sundays on www.YouTube.com/GameSpot. A trailer for the full first season can be viewed here: https://drive.google.com/a/cbsinteractive.com/file/d/1xQwQYMwisQYM8T5bdiAaDRzC7tzAluyx/view
