CBS SUNDAY MORNING, the nation’s #1 Sunday morning news program, posted double-digit percentage increases year-to-year with viewers and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for May 13.
CBS SUNDAY MORNING’s themed “A Sunday Morning in London” edition delivered 5.94 million viewers and a 1.1/08 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. Compared to the same week a year ago, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +11% in viewers (from 5.33m) and up +10% with adults 25-54 (from 1.0/06). CBS SUNDAY MORNING was #1 in both categories.
Television season-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING is ahead of last season. The broadcast is delivering 6 million viewers up from 5.98 million at this point last season.
Jane Pauley anchored Sunday’s broadcast, which featured a look at the history, the people, the places and the culture of the region that will be the focus of the upcoming wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The broadcast featured Martha Teichner’s interview with model, actor, singer and 60s icon Twiggy, as well as Tony Dokoupil’s profile of Academy Award-winning actor Rachel Weisz.
Mark Phillips reported on how America’s view of Great Britain needs to be updated and reports that Britain in the 21st century looks a lot more like America – a multicultural melting pot. Pauley visited an exhibit of dresses worn by Princess Diana now on display at Kensington Palace, and she visited Westminster Abbey.
