CBS SUNDAY MORNING, the nation’s #1 Sunday morning news program, posted audience gains year-to-year, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, May 12.
The broadcast delivered 6.04 million viewers and a 1.1/08 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +2% in viewers (from 5.94m) and even in adults 25-54 (from 1.1/08) when compared to the same week a year ago.
Television year-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING is delivering 5.93 million viewers and a 1.1/07 with adults 25-54. CBS SUNDAY MORNING is the #1 Sunday morning news program in these measures.
Jane Pauley anchored Sunday’s broadcast, which featured Dr. Jon LaPook’s cover story on the health risks resulting from the anti-vaccine advocated. The broadcast also included Tracy Smith’s interview with legendary radio host Howard Stern and Pauley’s profile of JEOPARDY! host Alex Trebek. Martha Teichner visited a new Statue of Liberty Museum. Kris Van Cleave reported on the new TWA Hotel at New York’s JFK Airport.
Also on the broadcast, Maurice DuBois spoke with the men known as the “Central Park Five,” who 30 years ago were wrongfully convicted of a brutal rape and beating, and also interviewed filmmaker Ava DuVernay about her upcoming Netflix mini-series about them. David Martin talked with retired US Navy Admiral William McRaven, author of a bestselling book.
