Rich Waltz joined CBS Sports Network in 2013 as a play-by-play announcer for college football and college basketball. He is also a contributor to CBS Sports’ coverage of NCAA division I basketball.
In addition to his work with the network, Waltz has been the voice of the Miami Marlins on FOX Sports Florida for the past 13 years. 2016 marked his third year announcing the World Baseball Classic for MLB Network.
Prior to joining CBS Sports Network, Waltz’s sports broadcasting career included a wide-array of experience with various networks. He has called Major League Baseball on many networks over the years including FOX Sports, ESPN, ESPN Radio and MLB Network. In addition to his various baseball assignments, Waltz covered college football and contributed to numerous sports on ESPN including NCAA Basketball, Arena Football, NCAA College Softball World Series, Little League World Series Regional Finals and Major League Soccer. He has also served as play-by-play announcer for Tennis Channel, Raycom Sports, Pac-12 Networks and FOX Sports 1.
Waltz is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where he played college baseball. He currently resides in Parkland, Fla. and Issaquah, Wash. with his wife and two daughters.
