"THE NFL ON CBS" SCORES THROUGH FOUR WEEKS OF NFL ACTION WITH HIGHEST AFC VIEWERSHIP IN 23 YEARS

CBS'S  NATIONAL GAMES RATE 15% HIGHER THAN SUNDAY PRIMETIME GAMES

 

Through four weeks of the 2010 season, THE NFL ON CBS is averaging 18.699 million viewers (Persons 2+), a +19% increase over 2009's 15.757 million viewers.  This year's 18.699 million viewers is the highest number of average viewers for the first four weeks of the season for the AFC television package in 23 years dating back to 1987. (As far back as CBS records go).

 

Through four weeks of the 2010 NFL regular-season, THE NFL ON CBS has earned an average national household rating/share of 11.3/24, up 18% from last year's 9.6/20.  This year's 11.3/24 is the highest average rating for the first four weeks of the AFC television package in 16 years dating back to 1994

 

CBS Sports' coverage of two National Sunday afternoon games (4:15 PM) season-to-date scored an average national household rating/share of 15.1/30, 15% higher than the four Sunday primetime games through four weeks (13.1/21).

 

CBS Sports pre-game studio show, "THE NFL TODAY", is averaging 4.655 million viewers for the first four weeks of the 2010 season, up 28% over 2009's 3.632 million and is the highest number of average viewers for CBS pre-game show at this point in the season since 1998.

 

In addition, through four weeks of the season, THE NFL TODAY, earned an average national household rating/share of 3.1/8, up 29% from last year's 2.4/6 and is the highest average rating in 12 years dating back to 1998 when CBS re-acquired the NFL.
