"THE NFL ON CBS" CONTINUES RATINGS ROLL THROUGH SIX WEEKS OF NFL ACTION WITH HIGHEST AFC VIEWERSHIP IN 23 YEARS

Through six weeks of the 2010 season, THE NFL ON CBS is averaging 18.42 million viewers (Persons 2+), an 11% increase over 2009's 16.607 million viewers.  This year's 18.42 million viewers is the highest number of average viewers for the first six weeks of the season for the AFC television package in 23 years dating back to 1987. (As far back as CBS records go).

 

Through six weeks of the 2010 NFL regular-season, THE NFL ON CBS has earned an average national household rating/share of 11.2/24, up 10% from last year's 10.2/21.  This year's 11.2/24 is the highest average rating for the first six weeks of the AFC television package in 16 years dating back to 1994

 

CBS Sports pre-game studio show, "THE NFL TODAY", is averaging 4.44 million viewers for the first six weeks of the 2010 season, up 22% over 2009's 3.628 million and is the highest number of average viewers for CBS pre-game show at this point in the season in 12 years dating back to1998 when CBS re-acquired the NFL.

 

In addition, through six weeks of the season, THE NFL TODAY, has earned an average national household rating/share of 2.9/8, up 21% from last year's 2.4/6 and is the highest average rating through six weeks in the season since 1998.

 

THE NFL ON CBS's Singleheader coverage games on Sunday, Oct. 17 (1:00 PM, ET), highlighted by New England's overtime victory over Baltimore, earned an average national household rating/share of 12.8/29, up 100% from last year's comparable Singleheader coverage in Week 7 (6.4/14).
