CBS SPORTS NAMED FAVORITE GOLF NETWORK IN GOLFWEEK.COM POLL

Jim Nantz, David Feherty, Gary McCord and CBS's Golf Technology Rank No. 1

 

 

CBS Sports was named as the viewer's favorite golf network in a recent Golfweek.com TV poll.  In addition, Jim Nantz ranked as the top television golf anchor and David Feherty and Gary McCord were named as top on-course reporter or tower reporter, respectively.   In the survey conducted for Golfweek's TV Issue*, CBS Sports was ranked No. 1 with 38.5% of the 1,459 votes in the survey.

 

CBS Sports' golf anchor Jim Nantz, the 2009 and 2008 Emmy Award-winner for "Outstanding Sports Personality - Play-by-Play" and five-time National Sportscaster of the Year earned 54.7 % of the votes as the top golf anchor.  Feherty earned 33.3 % and McCord 13.5% of the votes as No. 1 and 2 for favorite on-course or tower reporters. 

 

CBS Sports' Emmy Award-winning SwingVision and its unique use of ProTacer were named as the "coolest golf technology."

In another recent survey conducted by the National Golf Foundation of 750 golfers, CBS Sports' lead golf analyst Sir Nick Faldo ranked as the top television golf analyst. In the survey commissioned by Golf Magazine in October 2010, Faldo was ranked No. 1 by 40% of respondents.

 

Faldo, winner of six Majors including three Masters® Tournaments and three British Open titles, and more than 40 tournaments worldwide, took over the position of CBS Sports' lead golf analyst at the beginning of the 2007 golf season.
