(On Georgia-LSU):

It's such an exciting game because not only is it a league game, it's the defending national champions against the pre-season number one-ranked team, Georgia. It highlights the high level that these two teams are at with athletes, history, and consequences of this game. The loser of this game is out of the SEC Championship and that is going to make for a great football game.

(On Mark Richt Preparing Georgia for Road Games):

There is probably nobody in the country better than Mark Richt at preparing his team for road games. But this will be a special challenge for him because Georgia is going to go on the road now for 42 straight days before they'll play again at home in Athens. They have to play the likes of LSU and Florida. It's going to be a tough stretch.

(On Matthew Stafford):

It's time for Mark Richt's quarterback to win a couple games here. Matthew Stafford is extremely talented, and maybe the first quarterback drafted if he comes out next year. Mark Richt lived through his quarterback's mistakes as a freshman and he got better at the end of last year. But his (Richt's) year-and-a-half of patience and investment in a young player needs to pay off because this is one of these games where a veteran quarterback, who has been through all the wars in the SEC, should be able to lift his team and give them a great shot to win.

(On LSU's Defense):

Maybe the best thing that ever happened to LSU is they found out the other guys can knock them down. Florida knocking them on their fanny a few times has lit a fire under them. I actually said in the open before the Florida game that I thought that LSU's defense would be the problem against Florida. Everybody kind of laughed at me because they have such a great reputation. But when you watch them on film prior to Florida, they were just basically going through the motions. They just didn't have the fire from a year ago. I turned the tape on after the Florida game and watched them against South Carolina. That looked like the old LSU defense that I remember over the last two years, when they conceivably could have been back-to-back champions.
