NEW YORK (Jan 14, 2009)--On this week's INSIDE THE NFL on SHOWTIME - Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT , Cris Collinsworth returns as "King for a Day."   And INSIDE THE NFL Insider Mike Lombardi reports on all the latest news around the NFL, including Terrell Owens and Michael Vick.

Host James Brown anchors INSIDE THE NFL on SHOWTIME with All Pro NFL greats Collinsworth, Phil Simms and Warren Sapp serving as expert analysts. INSIDE THE NFL is being produced by CBS Sports and NFL Films with new shows airing on SHOWTIME every Wednesday during the NFL season through February 11, 2009.  The executive producers are Sean McManus, President, CBS News and Sports, and NFL Films President Steve Sabol.

Following are excerpts from the show:

(On Discussions about Terrell Owens leaving Dallas):

Lombardi: TO is back in the news. He has a $3.1 million roster bonus due in March and there are a lot of people in the Dallas front office trying to push Jerry Jones to get him to save their team. They feel like if they can rid themselves of TO, they make their team much better. So there is a lot of pressure on Jerry Jones to make that decision.

I would suspect in the next month before March comes around, I don't think TO is going to be a Cowboy.

(On why so important to get rid of Owens):

Lombardi: They want some team chemistry. Jason Garrett has basically said, 'Its going to be TO or it's going to be me. I am out looking for a head coaching job. I may get one of those head coaching jobs, but I just really can't co-exist with TO. You are going to have to make a decision.'

(On Jason Garrett drawing a line in the sand...'It's me or it's TO'):

Lombardi: I think he has an army of people helping him draw that line with the owner. I think a lot of people in the front office are pushing him because they feel like if they subtract TO from the team, that's a positive addition.

(On Status of Michael Vick):

Lombardi: As of January 9^th, last week, Michael Vick can be transferred to a halfway house. July the 20^th this year, he is free and had served his sentence. At that point, he'll re-apply to the National Football League for re-instatement...It's his intention to get back into football completely...Michael Vick is so talented. He is only going to be 29-years-old. He is not an old man by any means and he's humbled. Now he wants to play. Now they can maybe move him a around a bit. I think there would be a lot of teams that would be interested. I think owners, Jerry Jones being one, that might want to talk about it.

(On Vick playing a different position):

Lombardi: I have not talked to Michael Vick, but I suspect that he would be very humble and be willing to move. I think this Wildcat thing that has gone on in the National Football League is enticing to Michael Vick. I think he'll move around and he'll be a new dimension. Before it was about Michael Vick the quarterback. Now I think it's about Michael Vick reconstructing his career.
