CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR PRESENTS "BOWLING'S CLASH OF CHAMPIONS" ON SATURDAY

CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR brings together 16 champions from 2008 United States Bowling Congress events, the U.S. Open and the Professional Bowlers Association Player of the Year for BOWLING'S CLASH OF CHAMPIONS on Saturday, May 9 (4:00-6:00 PM; taped 4/30) from the USBC Convention in Reno, Nev.  Eight men and eight women, ranging from teenagers to seniors, battle for a $50,000 first-place prize. Highlighting the men's field is PBA Player of the Year Chris Barnes, U.S. Open champion Norm Duke, Junior Amateur champion Geoffrey Young and USBC Masters winner Kenny Parks. The women's field will feature U.S. Women's Open winner Kim Terrell-Kearney, USBC Queens champion and defending "Clash" champion Lynda Barnes, Junior Amateur champion Kristie Petravich and USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships winner Jennifer Wright.  CBS Sports' Bill Macatee, along with Nelson Burton, Jr. and Michele Hunter call the action.  CBS Sports' Ken Mack serves as coordinating producer.

 

NCAA WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIP VAULTS ONTO CBS SPORTS

CBS Sports broadcasts the 2009 NCAA WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS on Saturday, May 9 (2:00-4:00 PM, ET; taped 4/16-18).  The best female college gymnasts compete for the national title, as well as top spots in the vault, bars, beam, and floor categories. Defending champion Georgia looks for its fifth consecutive NCAA Championship and 10th overall. Teams looking to take away the Bulldogs' crown are some SEC rivals including the University of Alabama, University of Florida, Louisiana State University, University of Arkansas, as well as perennial power, Utah. CBS Sports' Tim Brando and Amanda Borden provide commentary from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb.  Ross Schneidermann produces and Suzanne Smith directs.
