“CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR” SWINGS INTO OMAHA FOR “TD AMERITRADE COLLEGE HOME RUN DERBY” ON SATURDAY, JULY 7

CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR airs the TD AMERITRADE COLLEGE HOME RUN DERBY presented by Miller High Life on Saturday, July 7 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; taped 7/3).  Eight of the top sluggers in college baseball compete in an elimination-style home run contest from TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb. to determine the nation’s best long-ball hitter.  CBS Sports’ Adam Zucker, Joe Carter and Tracy Wolfson host the one-hour special which includes a special salute to our military veterans and a guest appearance by former Major League Baseball and National Football League great, Bo Jackson.  CBS Sports’ Jon Segal serves as coordinating producer.

ULTRA-MARATHONER IS HUMAN EXPRESS ON “CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR” ON SUNDAY, JULY 8

CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR follows the finish of ultra-marathoner Karl Meltzer’s 2,200-mile journey as he re-traces the Pony Express route on foot during the RED BULL HUMAN EXPRESS on Sunday, July 8 (1:00-2:00 PM, ET).  From 1860 to 1861, fearless men on horseback delivered mail across the United States from Sacramento, Calif. to St. Joseph, Mo.  The HUMAN EXPRESS features the runner’s adventure while attempting to run the same route.  Meltzer goes to his limits to conquer the journey across the Rocky Mountains and Great Plains wilderness as he covers some 50 miles-a-day despite some low points and detours. After 40 grueling days and burning more than 247,000 calories, Meltzer launches into a final 100-mile finish to deliver a symbolic letter in commemoration of the Pony Express. Karl Meltzer provides the commentary of his journey for CBS Sports.  CBS Sports’ Steve McKee serves as coordinating producer.

TWO DRIVERS WANT NO SURPRISE AS “CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR” AIRS “LUCAS OIL OFF ROAD PRO4/PRO2” RACING ON SUNDAY, JULY 8

CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR highlights two reigning champions’ fight to retain their titles as Brian Deegan and Carl Renezeder compete against a field of highly talented Pro drivers during Round 5 of the LUCAS OIL OFF ROAD PRO4/PRO2 series on Sunday, July 8 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; taped 5/20) from Speedworld Off Road Park in Surprise, Ariz.  Ken Stout, Cameron Steele, Jeremy McGrath, Rob Klepper and Erin Bates call all of the action for CBS Sports.  CBS Sports’ Ryan Galvin serves as coordinating producer.
