CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR WARMS UP WITH “CBS SPORTS’ COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREVIEW SHOW” ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 18

CBS Sports’ Tim Brando, Spencer Tillman, Gary Danielson and Tony Barnhart offer their expert insights into what to expect during the upcoming 2012 college football season, as CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR broadcasts the CBS SPORTS’ COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREVIEW SHOW presented by Ram on Saturday, August 18 (1:00-2:00PM, ET; taped 8/14-8/15).  Brando, Tillman, Danielson and Barnhart discuss everything from off-season news, coaching changes and their effects on the game, who are the contenders for the Heisman Trophy, to which teams they see competing in the BCS Championship game. CBS Sports’ Vin DeVito produces and Linda Malino directs.

CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR broadcasts the PGA TOUR 2012: PLAYING WITH A PURPOSE presented by Barclays on Saturday, August 18 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET).  Hosted by CBS Sports’ Bill Macatee, the one-hour special documents the charitable commitments by players and organizations within the PGA TOUR family.  PLAYING WITH A PURPOSE airs on CBS Sports and is produced by PGA TOUR Entertainment. CBS Sports’ Andy Freedman serves as coordinating producer.

 

CBS SPORTS FOCUSES ON U.S. OPEN WITH TENNIS IN CINCINNATI ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 19

With its eye focused on the U.S. Open Tennis Championships in a couple of weeks, CBS Sports broadcasts the men’s final of the Emirates Airline U.S. Open Series WESTERN AND SOUTHERN OPEN on Sunday, August 19 (12:30-3:00 PM, ET) live from Cincinnati, Ohio.  Among the notables in the field this year are World #1 Roger Federer, who looks for his fifth Western & Southern Open title; #2 Novak Djokovic, a three-time runner-up; two-time champion, World #4 and recent Olympic Gold medalist Andy Murray; #5 David Ferrer; #6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga; #7 Tomas Berdych; #8 Janko Tipsarvic and #20 Mardy Fish, among others.  CBS Sports’ Mary Carillo, Jim Courier and Mary Joe Fernandez call the action.  CBS Sports’ Bob Mansbach produces and Bob Fishman and Suzanne Smith direct.
