ANNUAL GATHERING OF WORLD’S BEST COMPETE FOR COVETED GREEN JACKET AS AUGUSTA NATIONAL HOSTS 81st MASTERS® TOURNAMENT

 

CBS SPORTS BROADCASTS 2017 MASTERS FOR 62nd CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Masters® Is Longest-Running Sporting Event Broadcast on One Network

The Masters®, the most renowned tournament in golf and one of the most highly-anticipated sporting events of the year, will be broadcast on CBS for the 62nd consecutive year from the unrivaled setting of Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. This year marks the 81st Masters Tournament. Last year in only his second Masters, Danny Willett became only the second Englishman to win the Green Jacket.

CBS Sports will bring viewers all the color and drama inherent to the world's most prestigious golf tournament and first major of the year with live third-round coverage of the Masters on Saturday, April 8 (3:00-7:00 PM, ET). Final-round 18-hole coverage is scheduled for Sunday, April 9 (2:00-7:00 PM, ET). Highlights of early-round play will be presented by CBS Sports on Thursday, April 6 and Friday, April 7 (11:35-11:50 PM, ET; both nights).

For the 32nd consecutive year, Jim Nantz will cover the Masters for CBS (his 30th year as host). He also handles coverage of the Highlight Shows, originating from Butler Cabin on the grounds of Augusta National. Three-time Masters champion Sir Nick Faldo joins Nantz in the 18th hole tower as lead analyst. Ian Baker-Finch will describe the action at the 17th hole and join Nantz for the Highlight Shows; Verne Lundquist, the 16th hole; Peter Kostis, the 15th hole; Bill Macatee, the 14th hole; Dottie Pepper, the 13th hole; and Frank Nobilo will tell the story at the 11th and 12th holes. Andrew Catalon, Bobby Clampett, Mark Immelman and Billy Kratzert will call the live video streaming action for Masters On The Range; Grant Boone and Billy Ray Brown for Amen Corner; Luke Elvy, Ned Michaels and Clampett for 15 & 16.

This year, for the first time, Bill Macatee will tee off coverage of the 2017 Masters along with Davis Love III on Thursday morning with Featured Groups. In addition, Andrew Catalon, Brian Crowell, Mark Immelman, Billy Kratzert and Love III will also serve as announcers for the Featured Groups live streaming coverage of select pairings throughout their entire round each day.

Augusta National, home of the Masters since its inception in 1934, is the unrivaled host to the world’s greatest players and most memorable moments in golf. Willett returns to Augusta to lead the tournament field of invitees, which is considered America’s most prestigious gathering of professional and amateur golfers. The 2017 tournament field of invitees includes past Masters champions: Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson, Adam Scott, Phil Mickelson, Charl Schwartzel, Angel Cabrera, Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Mike Weir, Jose Maria Olazabal, Mark O’Meara, Trevor Immelman, Larry Mize, Fred Couples, Zach Johnson, Bernhard Langer, Ian Woosnam and Sandy Lyle; other U.S. players: Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Jim Furyk, Brandt Snedeker, Patrick Reed, Jason Dufner and Bill Haas. International stars include Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Justin Rose, Hideki Matsuyama, Paul Casey, Lee Westwood, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, Jon Rahm, Martin Kaymer and Louis Oosthuizen. CBS Sports' coverage of the Masters will be produced by Lance Barrow, coordinating producer of CBS golf, along with David Winner, and directed by Steve Milton and Bob Matina.
