DAN SABREEN PROMOTED TO SENIOR MANAGER, COMMUNICATIONS FOR CBS SPORTS

Public Relations Executive to Manage Media Relations for CBS College Sports Network and Related CBS Sports Programming

 

     Dan Sabreen has been promoted to Senior Manager, Communications, CBS Sports, where he will continue to manage publicity for CBS College Sports Network and related CBS Sports programming, it was announced today by Jen Sabatelle, Vice President, Communications, CBS Sports.  Sabreen previously served as Manager of Corporate Communications for CBS College Sports Network.

 

     In this expanded role, Sabreen will continue to manage the media relations efforts for CBS College Sports Network while taking on new responsibilities, including the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship, regular-season college basketball and the U.S. Open Tennis Championships for CBS Sports.  In addition, he will contribute to the publicity efforts for the Network's coverage of the NFL, SEC, PGA TOUR, including the Mastersâ and PGA Championship, and the CBS SPORTS SPECTACULARS as well as other ancillary programming.

     Sabreen joined CBS College Sports Network (then CSTV) in 2005 as Manager, Sports Communications.  In that role, he was responsible for media relations efforts surrounding the company's television and various digital properties, including all CBS College Sports Network studio, remote and original programming, as well as all distribution and affiliate relations initiatives.  He has served as the primary publicity contact working with CBS College Sports Network's array of talent.  In addition, Sabreen has worked closely with all of the network's conference and programming partners on publicity efforts, as well as with CBS Sports, CBSSports.com and MaxPreps.com.

 

     Prior to the CBS College Sports Network, Sabreen worked in public relations at Washington, D.C.-based Sports America, Inc. for two years.  While at Sports America, he oversaw all media relations strategy and execution for the company's various events and properties, including the McDonald's All-American Games, U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Jordan Brand Classic and Aflac All-American High School Baseball Classic.  In addition to public relations, he was involved in the company's operations, marketing and overall business development efforts.   

 

     Sabreen graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications in 2002.  After college, he moved to Washington, D.C., and started his professional career with the public relations agency, Goodman Media, Inc.
