CBS SPORTS’ 2014 PGA CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL-ROUND COVERAGE HAS 36% INCREASE IN RATINGS AS HIGHEST RATED IN 5 YEARS
CBS Sports’ final-round coverage of the 2014 PGA Championship on Sunday, Aug. 10 (3:00-9:00 PM, ET), which saw Rory McIlroy win the Wanamaker Trophy, earned an average household rating/share of 6.0/13, up 36% from last year’s 4.4/10 in the Nielsen metered markets. This year’s 6.0/13 marks the highest-rated final round in five years (2009; 7.5/17; Y.E. Yang won with Tiger Woods finishing second). This year’s final-round rating peaked with a 9.2/17 from 8:00-8:30 PM, ET. CBS Sports’ final-round coverage also was up 54% from 2012’s 3.9/8 when McIlroy won his first PGA Championship. ...
