2017 DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS
‘Judge Judy,’ ‘Entertainment Tonight’ and ‘Jeopardy!’
Take Home Top Honors
CBS TELEVISION DISTRIBUTION received three Emmy Awards in Outstanding Show Categories at the 2017 Daytime Emmys.
JUDGE JUDY, television’s #1 court show, took home the Emmy for Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program. This was the show’s third Emmy win in the category.
ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT was also awarded its third Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment News Program.
JEOPARDY! received the Emmy for Outstanding Game Show. This marks the show’s 34th Emmy win in its 33 seasons on air and its 16th win for Outstanding Game Show.
Harry Friedman, executive producer of WHEEL OF FORTUNE and JEOPARDY!, was also recognized with a Lifetime Achievement award. Friedman, who has been EP of WHEEL OF FORTUNE since 1995 and of JEOPARDY! since 1997, has also received numerous Emmys and Guinness World Records for his continuous work on two of the longest-running game shows in syndication. Friedman was presented the award by WHEEL OF FORTUNE host Pat Sajak and JEOPARDY! host Alex Trebek.
In addition, Mary Hart, former anchor of ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, was recognized at the 2017 Daytime Emmys with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her extensive, 30-year career in entertainment news. Hart was presented the award by actor Tim Allen.
The 44th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were held Sunday, April 30, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
