Following its eye-opening debut last year, the second season of DARK NET takes viewers on sharper, even more unnerving turns as it depicts the perilous consequences that result when the virtual world invades every aspect of our lives – our homes and communities, our money and jobs, even our bodies, minds and identities. The series exposes how we unwittingly surrender access to the most personal aspects of our lives because of our dependence on technology and willingness to do anything for convenience. Even our most intimate interactions and transactions are networked via data we willingly provide, transforming each of us into data points for companies, governments, workplaces, merchandisers and others. DARK NET episodes showcase stories, characters and data sourced by Vocativ’s proprietary deep web technology. Over the course of eight half-hour episodes, season two of DARK NET documents the vast extent to which our collected information and data is building an interconnected global net that has perhaps rendered us the last generation of privacy.

DARK NET is produced and developed by Vocativ Films, the television production arm of cutting-edge media and technology company Vocativ. The series was created by Vocativ’s founder, visionary entrepreneur Mati Kochavi, and is executive produced by Danna Rabin, Vivian Schiller and Adi Kochavi for Vocativ Films and David Shadrack Smith for Part2 Productions.

The new one-hour SHOWTIME series I’M DYING UP HERE explores L.A.’s famed ’70s stand-up comedy scene where the careers of legends such as David Letterman, Jay Leno and Richard Pryor were launched. The series delves into the inspired, damaged and complicated psyches of those who stand alone in front of an audience “dying” for fame, fortune and, with any luck, a shot on Johnny Carson. Guest stars include  Emmy nominee Dylan Baker (The Good Wife), Oscar nominee Robert Forster (Jackie Brown), Oscar nominee Cathy Moriarty (Raging Bull), Sebastian Stan (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Martian) and Emmy Award nominee  Alfred Molina (Chocolat). AMERICAN JIHAD

Premieres:  Saturday, March 25th at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT)

Visit:  http://www.sho.com/titles/3443632/american-jihad

Images:  http://www.cbspressexpress.com/showtime/shows

AMERICAN JIHAD (wt) is a compelling new documentary from Showtime Documentary Films which explores home-grown Jihadism and how young men are radicalized to commit violent acts of terrorism and what can be done to prevent it. Through intimate personal stories, we witness the havoc it creates in the lives of their families and the destruction of their communities. AMERICAN JIHAD will premiere on SHOWTIME on March 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on-air, online and On Demand, and will serve as the closing night film at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in late February.

AMERICAN JIHAD offers an inside look at Jihadism from former Jihadists and those deeply affected by its practices. By analyzing the strategic outreach and specifically online tactics that terrorists employ in order to reach susceptible members of society, experts weigh in on what actions those in power can take to help prevent the phenomenon of domestic Jihadism from occurring. The documentary also explores the impact of Anwar al-Awlaki, a U.S. citizen identified by the CIA as an al-Qaeda leader whose charismatic, highly personal recruitment tactics were responsible for influencing other Americans to the Jihadist cause. As the first American-born terrorist targeted and killed by a U.S. drone strike overseas, his death held worldwide political implications and invigorated the momentum of U.S. radicalism.

From Film 45, CBS Films, 60 Minutes and Jigsaw Productions, AMERICAN JIHAD was directed by Alison Ellwood (History of The Eagles, Magic Trip), and produced by Sarah Dowland (Zero Days). The film is executive produced by Oscar®-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side, Going Clear, Zero Days) and Stacey Offman of Jigsaw Productions, along with 60 Minutes’ Michael Radutzky and Jeff Fager, and Film 45’s Matt Goldberg, Brandon Carroll and John Logan Pierson. Richard Perello serves as co-executive producer.

AMERICAN JIHAD was inspired by the critically-acclaimed feature film PATRIOTS DAY directed by Peter Berg and starring Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, Kevin Bacon, J.K. Simmons and Michelle Monaghan, about a community's extraordinarily courageous response to the homegrown terrorism that precipitated the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.

JACKSON

World Premiere:  May

Images:  http://www.cbspressexpress.com/showtime/shows

Abortion remains legal in the United States, but anti-abortion efforts have succeeded in making it virtually inaccessible in some places and in the Deep South, often unthinkable. At one time Mississippi had fourteen abortion clinics. Now only one remains. Since the passage of Roe v. Wade more than four decades ago, the self-labeled “pro-life” movement has won significant cultural, political and legal battles. Now, the stigma of abortion is prolific in Mississippi where women in poverty and women of color are particularly vulnerable. JACKSON is wrought with the racial and religious undertones of the Deep South and explores the nuanced nature of abortion in America’s Bible Belt. Shannon Brewer is the director of Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the only remaining abortion clinic in the state. Barbara Beaver runs the Center for Pregnancy Choices and is a leader of the anti-abortion movement in Mississippi. April Jackson is a young mother of four children faced with another unplanned pregnancy. JACKSON is an intimate, unprecedented look at the lives of three women caught up in the complex issues surrounding abortion access. Set against the backdrop of the fight to close the last abortion clinic in Mississippi, JACKSON captures the essential and hard truth of the lives at the center of the debate over reproductive healthcare in America.

PERFECT IN ’76

Premieres:  Friday, March 10th at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT)

Visit:  http://www.sho.com/titles/3445714/perfect-in-76

Trailer:  http://s.sho.com/2lQ8dad

PERFECT IN ’76 chronicles the 1976 Indiana University Hoosiers’ undefeated season and their quest for perfection led by "The General,” the tough-as-nails Head Coach, Bob Knight. The film includes interviews with key players from the ’76 team, which won 18 Big 10 Conference games by an average of 23 points.

In the 1975 season, the Hoosiers lost just a single game when they were eliminated in the “Elite Eight” of the national championship tournament, losing by two points to University of Kentucky. The following year, the Hoosiers were down by six points at halftime to rival University of Michigan in the national title game when they flipped a switch and blew out the Wolverines. Knight calls the comeback a “perfect half,” with his team scoring an unprecedented 57 points. This remains the most points scored in a half of any NCAA Championship game. The 1976 Indiana Hoosiers are the last team to complete a perfect season in NCAA men’s basketball.

PERFECT IN ’76 is the latest in an expansive lineup of documentary programming from SHOWTIME Sports. Additional titles include “PRISON FIGHTERS: 5 Rounds To Freedom," "Legacy: Bob Hurley”, “ONE & DONE” (Ben Simmons), “RUNNING FOR HIS LIFE: The Lawrence Phillips Story”, “KOBE BRYANT’S MUSE,” “PLAY IT FORWARD” (Tony Gonzalez), “IVERSON,” “I AM GIANT: Victor Cruz,” “THE DREW” (Baron Davis), and “DEAN SMITH.”

DISGRACED

Premieres: Friday, March 31st at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT)

Visit:  http://www.sho.com/titles/3445716/disgraced

A presentation of Showtime Documentary Films and SHOWTIME Sports, DISGRACED examines the tragic events surrounding the 2003 murder of Patrick Dennehy, to which fellow teammate and friend Carlton Dotson pled guilty in the only known instance in the history of the NCAA when one student-athlete was convicted of murdering another. Through first-hand accounts from students, investigators, family and friends, DISGRACED calls into question the plea and conviction of Dotson.

The film also includes exclusive and revealing interviews with former head coach Dave Bliss, who directly addresses the attempted cover-up of NCAA rule violations and secretly recorded statements he made in 2003 that implicated him in those violations. The murder and then the attempted cover-up of improper payments to players rocked the Baptist university in Waco, Texas. Ultimately, Dotson pled guilty and the university and Bliss were cited for multiple NCAA rule violations. Bliss essentially was ousted from NCAA basketball for 10 years.
