‘THEIR BRAND IS CRISIS’ ON THE SPRING FINALE OF THE CIRCUS THIS SUNDAY ON SHOWTIME

NEW YORK – May 18, 2018 As the Mueller probe reaches its one-year mark, and startling revelations roil the criminal case being built against Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen, THE CIRCUS pulls back the curtain for an in-depth look at how the President and his allies on Capitol Hill and in the media are managing the myriad imbroglios that threaten to engulf the White House. In "Their Brand Is Crisis," the final episode of the show's spring 2018 run – premiering this Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME – the show's hosts explore the dueling narratives dividing the country in the Trump era and how those narratives are created and sustained. Alex Wagner tracks down key players in the legal and legislative realms in Washington D.C. and the Southern District of New York. Mark McKinnon ranges across the media landscape, going behind the scenes with CNN's Don Lemon at the outlet Trump loves to hate, and beyond the headlines at a seminal source of pro-Trump storylines, The Daily Caller. Meanwhile, John Heilemann sits with one of Trump's most battle-tested allies, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and travels to the West Coast to talk to two pre-eminent "masters of disaster": Democrat Mark Fabiani, who helped President Bill Clinton fend off the Whitewater probe, and Republican Steve Schmidt, who helped steer President George W. Bush and Senator John McCain through the rapids.

THE CIRCUS features John Heilemann, co-author of the New York Times best-sellers Game Change and Double Down, noted campaign strategist Mark McKinnon and Alex Wagner, an Emmy®-nominated television journalist, author, correspondent for CBS News and contributing editor at The Atlantic. THE CIRCUS is produced by Left/Right, a part of Red Arrow Entertainment Group, for SHOWTIME. Heilemann, McKinnon, Wagner, Banks Tarver and Ken Druckerman serve as executive producers.
