THE CIRCUS HEADS TO KEY STATES IN THE BATTLE FOR THE SENATE

Hosts report from North Dakota, Nevada and Arizona

NEW YORK – October 19, 2018 – With the midterms less than three weeks away, THE CIRCUS returns this Sunday, October 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT to explore the most critical races in the battle for Senate control. In an episode titled “Senatorial Combat,”  co-hosts John Heilemann, Alex Wagner, and Mark McKinnon traverse three states — North Dakota, Nevada and Arizona — where Senate candidates face off in debates this week under immense pressure in the final days of their campaigns. The races feature a Democratic incumbent fighting for survival in a red state, a Republican facing a fierce challenge in a purple state, and the fight for a seat left open by a retiring Republican

Heilemann heads to the Great Plains to talk with Senator Heidi Heitkamp (D-North Dakota). On one of the most difficult days of her campaign, Heitkamp apologizes for a campaign ad that made the names of survivors of sexual abuse public without their permission. In Nevada, Wagner catches up with Rep. Jacky Rosen (D-Nevada), who is vying to unseat incumbent Senator Dean Heller (R-Nevada). Meanwhile, McKinnon spends the week in Arizona covering one of the most competitive Senate races in the nation between Rep. Martha McSally (R-Arizona) and Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Arizona).
