NEW YORK, November 22, 2010-Stephen Black has joined Simon & Schuster, Inc. in the newly-created position of Vice President, Client Publisher Services, effective today. Mr. Black, who will have responsibility for the company‟s distribution client relationships including new business development, will report to Dennis Eulau, Executive Vice President, Operations and Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Black is a publishing and distribution veteran who was the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of CDS, which launched in 1999 and in a few years grew to become a major provider of distribution and outsourcing services for publishers. In 2005 CDS was sold to the Perseus Book Group and Mr. Black served as President of the combined Perseus/CDS distribution operation. He has also held a variety of top management positions, including as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Random House, Inc.

Mr. Black will work in close coordination with Simon & Schuster‟s current distribution client team, including Joe Bulger for business and operational support, Michael Perlman for sales and marketing of client titles and Dale Bochanski for day-to-day warehouse and logistics support.
