New York, NY (February 7, 2011) - Emily Bestler has been promoted to Editor-In-Chief and Senior Vice-President and will now head a new imprint - Emily Bestler Books.  The new imprint will debut in Spring 2011 and will publish both fiction and nonfiction.

Bestler has been with Simon and Schuster for 16 years and during that time has published 79 New York Times bestsellers and 12 No. 1 bestsellers.  Her list of bestselling authors includes John Connolly, Vince Flynn, Jodi Picoult, Diane Setterfield, Sister Souljah, Brad Thor, Nicolle Wallace and Liza Marklund.

"Emily has an eye for discovering talented authors, nurturing their careers and growing their sales to bestselling levels.  An Emily Bestler Book will signal to both the reader and the bookselling community that between the covers they can expect to find many hours of entertaining reading," said Judith Curr, Executive Vice President and Publisher of Atria Books.  "I'm delighted to launch her new endeavor here at Atria, to salute her past accomplishments and look to many more future bestsellers from her."

"I am incredibly fortunate to have worked with such gifted writers over the years and I'm excited, with this new imprint, to continue to bring their unique voices to readers across all formats," says Bestler.  "I'm always energized by finding new talent, and with my colleagues at Atria and Simon & Schuster, bringing it to market."

Editor Sarah Branham, who previously worked with Bestler, has been promoted to Senior Editor and will now report to Atria Vice President and Editorial Director, Peter Borland. Emily Bestler Books will hire a new editor for the imprint. The Atria team in place will handle the publishing, sub rights and publicity operations of the new imprint.
