CBS CONFIRMS THE IDENTITIES OF THE NEW 16 SURVIVORS

"Survivor:  The Australian Outback" To Premiere After Super Bowl XXXV

On Jan. 28 and Will Then Move to Its Regular Time Period Beginning Feb. 1

The identities of the new 16 survivors of SURVIVOR:  THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK were confirmed today in anticipation of the series' premiere after Super Bowl XXXV on Sunday, Jan. 28 on the CBS Television Network. 

CBS News' THE EARLY SHOW, with Bryant Gumbel and Jane Clayson, officially announced their identities on this morning's broadcast.  Exclusive first interviews and snippets of their original audition tapes were presented to supplement the introduction of the latest group of individuals vying for the $1 million dollar prize.

Following are the 16 survivors, listed in alphabetical order:

SURVIVOR:  THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK will strand 16 Americans in this remote region of the world -- many miles from civilization -- to fend for themselves while also competing for the grand prize.  The Australian Outback, one of the world's truly wild places, features dry and open land, criss-crossed with deep rock canyons, thundering waterfalls and enormous eucalyptus forests. It is home to such wildlife as kangaroos, emus, wild pigs, giant pythons, venomous snakes and spiders, crocodiles, large goannas (lizards) and exotic bird life.  These elements will provide a stunningly beautiful and amazingly challenging backdrop for SURVIVOR:  THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK.

After the special premiere of SURVIVOR:  THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK on Jan. 28, the series will move to its regular Thursday, 8:00-9:00 PM  time period, beginning Feb. 1, on the CBS Television Network.
