The Top Five Nominees in Each Category Will Be Announced Thursday, Nov. 9

Voting is now underway at www.myspace.com/peopleschoiceawards to determine the nominees for the PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011, in which fans honor their favorites in movies, music and television.  Starting today, fans can vote in 40 categories, including Favorite Country Artist, Favorite Action Movie and Favorite TV Comedy.  The top five nominees in each category will be announced on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2010, at The London West Hollywood Hotel during the annual PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 press conference.

The PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 will be broadcast Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 (9:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.

For the first time, fans recently voted on PeoplesChoice.com to add new categories. Winning categories include Favorite Song, Favorite Horror Movie and Favorite TV Doctor.  In addition to the new fan-voted categories, the PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 is introducing a new category in partnership with Moviefone, Favorite Movie Star Under 25, in which fans will pick from the list of top 25 favorite Hollywood stars under the age of 25, with the highest vote-getters to be revealed at the Nov. 9 press conference as official nominees for the award.  The PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 will also see the continuation of last year's successful Favorite Web Celeb category, in partnership with MSN's Wonderwall.com. 

Nominee voting will also take place on MySpace, where fans can share content and converse about the awards on the official PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 profile at www.myspace.com/peopleschoiceawards. 

The list of potential nominees for the PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 was determined by national ratings averages, box-office grosses, music sales and EScore celebrity.

Now in its 37th year, the PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 is voted on entirely by the public for fan favorites in music, movies and television.  The "People's Choice" Web site at http://www.peopleschoice.com/ serves as a year-round destination for entertainment enthusiasts to voice their opinions on pop culture, and determine the nominees and winners for the annual awards show.  Fred Nelson is the President of People's Choice, and the awards show is produced by Procter & Gamble Productions, Inc., which is represented by MediaVest Worldwide, Inc., supervisors of the production.  Mark Burnett is the executive producer.

Mark Burnett is a producer of primetime television, cable and Internet programming, and has produced over 1,100 hours of television programming which regularly air in over 70 countries around the world.  Burnett has revolutionized television with continuing hits such as "Survivor" (CBS), "The Apprentice" (NBC), and the now syndicated "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?"
