CBS's holiday season special events include the annual THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE as well as the annual visits of RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER and FROSTY THE SNOWMAN.

 

Sam Elliott, John Corbett, Karen Allen, Sarah Paulson and Emily Alyn Lind star in the new "Hallmark Hall of Fame" presentation of NOVEMBER CHRISTMAS.

 

Among the Network's additional animated offerings are encore broadcasts of the holiday specials YES, VIRGINIA and A FLIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS. 

 

CBS's music-laden special events include THE VICTORIA'S SECRET FASHION SHOW, featuring musical guests Katy Perry and Akon, THE GRAMMY® NOMINATIONS CONCERT LIVE!-COUNTDOWN TO MUSIC'S BIGGEST NIGHT®, THE 12TH ANNUAL A HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS and THE 33RD ANNUAL KENNEDY CENTER HONORS.

 

Also on tap during the holiday season is the network television premiere of the family comedy, "Evan Almighty," starring Steve Carell and Morgan Freeman.

Thursday, Nov. 25                   THE THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE ON CBS-

(9:00AM-Noon, Live ET          Maggie Rodriguez and Dave Price of CBS News' "The

8:00AM-11:00 AM, live CT     Early Show" host this CBS Thanksgiving tradition which

7:00AM-10:00 AM, live MT    features the 84th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

9:00AM-Noon, delayed PT)    live from New York.  Celebrating its 50th year on CBS, the parade will feature performances by country music star Carrie Underwood.  Additional performances will include the Broadway casts of "Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles" and the Tony Award-winning musical "Billy Elliot."  Marissa Jaret Winokur, co-host of the CBS daytime talk show "The Talk," will be the "woman on the street" reporter for the event, providing her own viewpoint of the parade as she reports and interacts with the crowd. 

 

Sunday, Nov. 28                      NOVEMBER CHRISTMAS-In this new "Hallmark Hall

(9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)          of Fame" presentation set in a small Rhode Island community, neighbors band together to create magical Halloween and Christmas moments-several weeks early-for a young girl and her family in need of an extra dose of joy and hope to make it through a difficult time.  Emmy Award nominee Sam Elliott ("Buffalo Girls"), Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee John Corbett ("My Big Fat Greek Wedding," "Sex and the City"), Karen Allen ("Raiders of the Lost Arc"), Golden Globe Award nominee Sarah Paulson ("Deadwood") and Emily Alyn Lind ("The Secret Life of Bees," "All My Children") star.

 

 

Tuesday, Nov. 30                     RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER-The longest-

(8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT)            running holiday special in television history celebrates its 46th anniversary with this digitally re-mastered version.  Since 1964, millions of families have watched Rudolph and his friends, Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius and the Misfit Toys, save Christmas.  The classic "Animagic" special features a world-renowned musical score from Johnny Marks and the voice of legendary performer Burl Ives.  (Rebroadcast)

 

Tuesday, Nov. 30                     THE VICTORIA'S SECRET FASHION SHOW-

(10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)        Grammy-nominated superstars Katy Perry and Akon will be among the musical guests at the world's most celebrated fashion show.  Victoria's Secret Angels star in this lingerie runway show, which will also include red carpet interviews, model profiles and feature the $2 million Bombshell Fantasy Bra designed by renowned Italian jeweler Damiani and worn by Supermodel Adriana Lima.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 1                  THE GRAMMY NOMINATIONS CONCERT LIVE!-

(10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)        COUNTDOWN TO MUSIC'S BIGGEST NIGHT-For the third consecutive year, this special will set the stage for the annual Grammy Awards telecast and announce nominations in several categories, as well as feature performances by past Grammy winners and/or nominees.

 

Saturday, Dec. 4                      EVAN ALMIGHTY-Steve Carell stars as junior

(8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT)          Congressman Evan Baxter whose wish to change the world is heard by none other than God (Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman), who requests he build an arc.  (Network premiere)

 

Saturday, Dec. 11                    FROSTY THE SNOWMAN-Frosty, that "jolly, happy

(8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT)            soul" whose old silk hat full of magic has turned him into a musical Christmas legend, once again demonstrates his unique showmanship.  Narrated by Jimmy Durante, the special also includes the voices of Jackie Vernon (as Frosty) and Billy De Wolfe (as Professor Hinkle).  (Rebroadcast)

 

 

 

 

Saturday, Dec. 11                    FROSTY RETURNS-The magic still in his old silk hat,

Wednesday, Dec. 22                12TH ANNUAL A HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS-

(8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT)            Along with musical performances, story segments feature celebrities who either have their own adoption experiences or are involved with children's issues.  The stories highlight many exceptional American children and families involved in the adoption process.

 

Tuesday, Dec. 28                     THE 33rd ANNUAL KENNEDY CENTER HONORS-

(9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)          Singer and songwriter Merle Haggard; composer and lyricist Jerry Herman; dancer, choreographer and director Bill T. Harris; songwriter and musician Paul McCartney; and producer, television host and actress Oprah Winfrey will receive this year's honors.  In a star-studded celebration on the Kennedy Center Opera House stage, the 2010 Honorees will be saluted by great performers from Hollywood and the arts capitals of the world.  Seated with President and Mrs. Obama, the Honorees will accept the thanks of their peers and fans through performances and heartfelt tributes.
