Three-time Tony Award nominee ?eljko Ivanek ("The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial," "Brighton Beach Memoirs," "Two Shakespearean Actors," "Oz," "24") and Henry Simmons ("NYPD Blue," "Madea's Family Reunion") guest star. The murdered cop's partner (Henry Simmons) and most of the L.A.P.D. are hesitant to trust and help Sebastian who, as a defense attorney, often used questionable means to win acquittals for his often guilty clients. Between the friction with the L.A.P.D, the spotty eyewitness account of the victim's partner, the limited evidence, and defendant Scott Ransom's alibi and first rate lawyer (?eljko Ivanek), who was once Sebastian's protégé, the case is anything but a slam dunk for Sebastian's team. Taking a cue from Sebastian's "cutthroat manifesto," Madeleine convinces Casey that to quickly secure an important search warrant, they'll need to lie about something on the petition that can be explained as an oversight if later detected. Meanwhile, Sebastian finds this challenging case easier than figuring out how to form a deeper relationship with his daughter, who is now living with him full-time.
