“MADAM SECRETARY” IS MOST-WATCHED SCRIPTED SHOW OF THE NIGHT; UP +47% OVER THE YEAR-AGO TIME PERIOD IN VIEWERS, RETAINS 86% OF PREMIERE AUDIENCE

CBS Sunday Grows By More Than One Million Viewers From the Same Night Last Year

“Madam Secretary” and “The Good Wife” Projected to Grow By +33% in Adults 18-49 and +30% in Viewers With Live +7-Day Ratings

            THE GOOD WIFE grew by more than 2 million viewers over its Sunday premiere last year, while the second episode of MADAM SECRETARY was Sunday's most-watched scripted program, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Sept. 28

Note: Due to live event programming on CBS (15 minutes of late running football in a number of large markets including New York, Chicago, Miami, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, the states of Michigan and Wisconsin),  CBS ratings and all time period rankings are tentative and subject to change.

At 8:00 PM, MADAM SECRETARY was the most-watched scripted show of the night with 12.66 million viewers, while averaging 2.3/06 in adults 25-54 and 1.4/04 in adults 18-49. MADAM SECRETARY was the night's most-watched scripted program, retaining 86% of its premiere audience and adding +4.04m viewers (from 8.62m, +47%) from the year-ago time period.

At 9:00 PM, THE GOOD WIFE averaged 11.20 million viewers, 2.2/05 in adults 25-54 and 1.3/04 in adults 18-49.   Compared to last week's season premiere, THE GOOD WIFE was even in adults 25-54 and added +140,000 viewers (from 11.06m, +1%).   Compared the same night last year, THE GOOD WIFE added +2.05m viewers (from 9.15m, +22%). 

CBS Research projects MADAM SECRETARY will increase by +30% in viewers (to 16.45m) and +33% in adults 18-49 (to 1.9) with Live +7-Day viewing, while THE GOOD WIFE will grow +30% in viewers (to 14.55m) and +33% in adults 18-49 (1.7).
