WHAT: When the Tiede family headed off to spend a snowy Christmas at their remote family cabin, they had no idea what the trip would bring. Two sisters who survive a harrowing home invasion share the terrifying story in their first extended television interview.

WHO: Sisters Linae and Tricia Tiede were held hostage by the men who invaded their home, and shot their mother, father, and grandmother. They owe their lives to a quick-thinking uncle and a heroic father whose fierce determination gave him the super-human strength needed to ignore his own pain and save his daughters. LIVE TO TELL: THREE DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS is the tale of one family’s horrific ordeal that ultimately drew them closer, making them grateful for one another and devoted to honoring the memory of those they lost on that bitterly cold December day.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Linae and Tricia were only twenty and sixteen-years-old, respectively, when they were forced to witness the murders of their mother and grandmother in their family’s Oakely, Utah, cabin. The two men responsible for that crime also shot their father in front of them, only to then set the cabin on fire and take the sisters hostage.

The Tiede family fell victim to a rare crime, but one that strikes terror in our hearts: being held captive by strangers who seem committed to destroying everyone and everything you love. With help from each other, the survivors were able to rebuild their lives and today the sisters are thriving and have families of their own; their tale remind us of the true power of family ties.

WHEN: Saturday, December 10 (10:00 P.M. ET/PT)

On Saturday, December 10 from 10:00 – 11:00 P.M., ET, the Tiede sisters will discuss what happened to them on Facebook, while the producers of 48 HOURS MYSTERY will lead the conversation on Twitter.
