They were lifelong friends who kept in touch using Facebook. So when Lisa Stone vanished from her Dallas home and stopped posting on the social media service, her worried pals Tammye Markle, Joni Shannon and Tina Wiley logged onto Facebook and went to work to find her. 48 HOURS MYSTERY correspondent Maureen Maher talks to the self-named “Facebook Detectives” about the search for their missing friend in this rebroadcast of a May 2011 telecast. When Stone disappeared, her friends turned to Facebook for clues, leading them on a path through dumpsters, ditches and streams searching for any traces of their pal. At first they were unable to convince authorities Stone was murdered. Police eventually turned to Sherry Henry, believed to be one of the last people to see Stone. Henry denies a role in Stone’s disappearance.

“The Facebook Detectives” is one of several rebroadcast and updated editions of 48 HOURS MYSTERY that will air Tuesdays at 10:00 PM this summer in addition to the program’s usual Saturday 10:00 PM telecasts.
