“CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD” POSTS ITS LARGEST FOURTH QUARTER AUDIENCE DELIVERY SINCE THE 1987 ADVENT OF PEOPLE METERS

            CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD posted its largest fourth quarter audience since the 1987 advent of people meters and remained the #1 Sunday morning news program with viewers and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen’s most current ratings.

For the fourth quarter 2014, CBS SUNDAY MORNING averaged 5.96 million viewers and a 1.4/07 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. Compared to the same period in 2013, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +2% in viewers (from 5.83m) and even in adults 25-54.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING finished the fourth quarter on Dec. 28 with a broadcast watched by 6.03 million viewers and earned a 1.2/07 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. CBS SUNDAY MORNING was the #1 Sunday morning news program in viewers and adults 25-54. CBS SUNDAY MORNING also posted its second largest audience of the 2014-15 season (behind the Nov. 2, 2014 broadcast). Compared to the same day last year, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +3% in viewers (from 5.85m).

Among the stories featured on the Dec. 28, 2014 broadcast were Anthony Mason’s interview with guitarist and songwriter Mick Jones; Susan Spencer’s report on our penchant for making excuses; Gayle King’s interview with actor Tony Danza; and Charles Osgood’s look back at the actors, artists, musicians and other notable people the world lost during 2014.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING is broadcast Sundays (9:00-10:30 AM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. Rand Morrison is the executive producer.
