48 HOURS: “Shadow of Death” was Saturday’s #1 non-sports program with viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Oct. 10.

48 HOURS was the most-watched broadcast at 10:00 PM, delivering 4.77 million viewers and a 1.1/03 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. Compared to last week, 48 HOURS added +200,000 viewers (from 4.57m viewers, +4%).  Compared to the same night last year, 48 HOURS was up +3% in viewers.

Saturday’s broadcast featured Troy Roberts and 48 HOURS’ investigation into the case against Ashton Sachs, who police say snuck into his family’s upscale California home and shot dead his parents, Andra and Brad Sachs, and paralyzed a younger brother.

Police initially thought the wealthy couple was killed after a business deal went bad. However, a month after the shooting, the couple’s then-19-year-old son, Ashton, was charged with murder. Family members told 48 HOURS that Ashton was obsessed with violent video games and fascinated with the notorious Menendez murders of 1989. Ashton Sachs is scheduled to go on trial for the murders in March 2016.

48 HOURS: “Shadow of Death” is produced by Chuck Stevenson and Judy Rybak. Greg Fisher, Michelle Fannucci and Avi Cohen are the development producers. George Baluzy and Michael Baluzy are the editors. Al Briganti is the executive editor. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
