Broadcast Caps Back-to-Back Time Period Wins for “48 HOURS” Double Feature

48 HOURS: “What Happened in Apt. 1601?” was Saturday’s #1 broadcast at 10:00 PM, with viewers and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for April 2, 2016. The broadcast capped back-to-back time period wins for a 48 HOURS double feature.

At 10:00 PM, the all-new 48 HOURS: “What Happened in Apt. 1601?” delivered 4.57 million viewers and a 1.2/04 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. Compared to the same night last year, 48 HOURS at 10:00 PM was up +20% in adults 25-54 and +8% in viewers. And at 9:00 PM, an encore presentation of 48 HOURS: “Gone” (R) (S) was #1 as well, delivering 4.17 million viewers and a 1.1/03 with adults 25-54.

“What Happened in Apt. 1601?” featured Richard Schlesinger and 48 HOURS’ investigation into the 2013 death of Mark Waugh, who entered a Washington D.C. apartment with two other friends,  Rahul Gupta and Gupta’s girlfriend, Taylor Gould, after a night of barhop ping. Gupta and Gould walked out alive, bloody and drunk, according to police. They also told police they didn’t know what happened. But, police tried something highly unusual during the interrogation process and put Gupta and Taylor in a room alone. Their conversation decided who went home, and who would be charged with murder.
